I must know~! What song are you playing after Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring?

Pallet, that would be a ramped-up version of “Manhā de Carnaval” (or “Morning of Carnival”) by Luiz Bonfá from the 1959 Brazilian film Orfeu Negro, AKA Black Orpheus.

BTW, I played it entirely too funky to catch its true beauty. It’s best played with a slow, romantic bossa feel, which is how I usually play it. But I was feeling feisty, I guess, when I made the video, so it came off with a jazz-funk groove instead.

Variety is sometimes the spice of life, but sometimes all you manage to do is turn a perfectly good silk purse into a cow’s ear. I had fun with it… but I really should have romanced the tune.

No way!! A very funky rendition indeed! I didn’t even recognize it. Im totally thinking of taking that idea and running with it.
