Pallet, that would be a ramped-up version of "Manhā de Carnaval" (or "Morning of Carnival") by Luiz Bonfá from the 1959 Brazilian film Orfeu Negro, AKA Black Orpheus.

BTW, I played it entirely too funky to catch its true beauty. It's best played with a slow, romantic bossa feel, which is how I usually play it. But I was feeling feisty, I guess, when I made the video, so it came off with a jazz-funk groove instead.

Variety is sometimes the spice of life, but sometimes all you manage to do is turn a perfectly good silk purse into a cow's ear. I had fun with it... but I really should have romanced the tune.

Glen, I once had a nasty bout with Carpal Tunnel, a similar repetitive motion injury. At the time, I lived near a chiropractor who specialized in such ailments, and visited his office. After only one treatment, I walked out feeling much, much better, virtually back to normal, but continued treatments for a couple of months just to be on the safe side. I can't recommend chiro highly enough for musicians.

30 years ago I was making a good living playing guitar. Then my ring and little fingers stopped working. Had to give up guitar. Kept trying to play over the years but only failed and got more and more frustrated. This sounds incouraging. Anyone else out there experienced this, and had any success fixing it???? thanks, Glen Yost. glen@carolina.rr.com
