Introducing Dr. Doug Helvering, a classical composer and curator of The Daily Doug, a very successful music channel on YouTube. Helvering posts a varied assortment of videos, but I first discovered him in a reaction video, an interesting YT trend where folks record and post their reactions to listening to a piece of music, ideally heard for the very first time. The quality of reaction videos can vary widely, which naturally affects the success and growth of their channels.
I especially enjoy such videos when the creator is actually knowledgeable about music and can speak with some authority on the featured video. Helvering does a particularly fine job in this regard, often with an electric piano at his side in the video for when he feels like exploring the nuts and bolts of the piece at hand. Definitely recommended viewing.
