Announcing the addition of a YT gallery for my friend Bill Land, the Land & Lore of Brown County. I’ve been meaning to add this 10-video gallery to StringDancer for a loong time, and I’m very happy to have finally gotten around to it. If you want to cut to the chase and dig Bill’s content, by all means hit it now.
Bill Land is no stranger to we older Brown County residents, having served for many eventful years as a planner for the county government. Bill’s thoughtful and innovative approaches to city and county planning, intentional communities and homesteading practices made him an easy fit in the old-school, traditional yet forward-thinking fabric of Brown County.
In addition, Bill has his artistic side, and has always been a great supporter of the creative arts. It was in this capacity that I first came to know the man and his well-researched creative work way back in my early days playing music around BC, and later when Bill came to be an occasional contributor to the Brown County Hour, the radio show on WFHB I helped produce more than a decade ago.
Outside of radio, I had the great pleasure of producing several audio and video projects for Bill, one of which is the current presentation, The Land & Lore of Brown County. L&L almost defies description… it is best experienced, and now can be right here in StringDancer. I cannot count the hours I’ve spent with Bill recording his stories and memoirs up in my old studio on Greenbriar Lake. Great memories he and I both cherish.
Now, Bill and I deviate from one another somewhat politically, but have always enjoyed sufficient overlap in our principle beliefs so that our minor differences would always lead to lively discussion rather than any kind of dissension (the world could use more of such simple civility these days). Our mutual love and respect for one another as men is a blessing to us both, and I personally count Bill Land as one of my greatest friends in this life. He frequently says the same of me.
Anyway, enjoy Bill’s The Land & Lore page. More’s a-comin’.
